Kano admitted it was his fault they were currently sitting at a table, waiting for their captors to finish priming a gun for a good old fashioned game of Russian roulette. Kano had played it before and survived, obviously, but he was surprised by how grey-faced Kuai Liang looked. The man was just staring dead ahead, eyes glazed over.
“Didn’t expect you to be so scared of your potential death.”
Kuai looked over to him with a blink.
“I’ve died before,” he muttered, “and it was not pleasant.”
Anything Kano wanted to say was cut off by the sound of the gun being placed on the table.
The game was about to begin.
