Kuai sat with his back to them, staring out of the window. If he knew they were there, he did not react. It had been like this since Hanzo had brought him back, and it was beginning to worry Harumi.

Hanzo had only told her parts of what they’d found at the Lin Kuei temple. Kuai was the only survivor amongst a sea of corpses. So deep in shock and too worn down to fight against the Shirai Ryu investigating.

“Kuai Liang? Honey?” He lifted his head slightly. That was something, at least. “Do you want anything?”

Seconds of silence, followed by a small broken voice stating “I want to go home.”

Harumi shared a look with Hanzo. She had no idea what they were going to do.
