Fandom will make up a big part of this site. I'ts a hobby I have enjoyed for many years and I intend to do so for many more. I am a bit of a recluse admittedly, I sometimes joke I'm a fandom hermit who comes out of my cave every so often to place fanfic down in front of people before scurrying back.
I really like to attend conventions, I love buying art and merch from small artists! I really enjoy the vibes of cons and they have somewhat become my happy place. Covid put my attendance in decline but I'm really starting to push to start attending them again.
My main fandom is Mortal Kombat and my ultimate OTP is Hanzo Hasashi/Kuai Liang. This has pretty much been my longest standing fandom. I've been in the fandom as primarily a lurker since 2014, mostly keeping my fanworks to myself but in 2020 I became much more active and started sharing my contributions! I've found my fandom home and I'm very happy here.
In my personal life, I am currently working on setting up my own business and going self employed!
The movement for bringing back personalisation to the web has helped me realise what I have been missing about that era of the web.
I think my coding has improved so much since I got back into web design and I'm so glad I found neocities. I love seeing people embrace this culture, especially seeing kids who are around the same age I was back when I first started. Seeing them embrace something that gave me so much joy back in the day is a delight. My site may be 18+ but I definately support the younger generations getting into web design!
My main goal with the site is just to have fun with it really. Sharing my views and my art as well.
This is currently the 5th version of Summer Kaptilo, and I basically deleted everything from the previous version and have started from the ground up!
