Hello and welcome to my SubScorp shrine, a small webpage dedicated to my OTP, Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion)/Kuai Liang (Sub Zero) from the Mortal Kombat Franchise! This has been my OTP for 10+ years now, so lemme tell you I am really fucking deep with this one LMAO.
My SubScorp journey started back in 2014. While being a child of the 90's I'd had some contact with the Mortal Kombat franchise before this (to the point I’m fairly sure I had a Sub Zero Minecraft skin for a while), 2014 was the first time I played MK9 and really took interest in the actual story and lore. It managed to captivate me in a way that no other fandom really has before, but that's a story for another page I think.
I've always been a sucker for a good enemies to lovers ship, so it seemed almost like fate that SubScorp would immediately call to me. I think Sub Zero's MK9 ladder ending also helped, with them essentially eloping to kick ass together.
It didn't take long for me to go looking for fanworks and this resulted in me coming across and reading my first SubScorp fic; At Least We Tried by YellowGernade. To say that fic absolutely kickstarted my obsession with this ship is an understatement, and it's absolutely shaped a lot of how I see the ship. The fact it will likely never be completed haunts me, but I do appreciate what was posted more than words can express.
I'll admit I spent a very long time being a very quiet fandom enjoyer. I'd had some difficulties in my real life and cut my public internet profile down dramatically. Due to this, I didn't exactly actively take part in the fandom much, despite Mortal Kombat basically being the only thing on my mind. I kept most of my ramblings between myself and my hard drive. I spent a lot of these years writing a lot of fanfiction, and slowly working on my writing style and skills. Trust, if you saw my very first SubScorp fic, you would think it was written by a completely different person.
This changed in 2020, when on the 9th of June I published my first batch of Song Inspired Shorts in an effort to fight my anxiety. This also included my first published SubScorp fanfic; Clarity.
It was due to posting those that I met the person who would become my partner in fandom crimes; Mags. Their first message to me was a comment on my Song Shorts, expressing interest in drawing fanart. We got talking, and became friends. Their fanart is still my phone background to this day.
In 2021, Mags approached me asking if I would be interested in running a ship week with them. I accepted, and so SubScorp Week was born! While I am no longer involved with the event due to personal reasons, I'm still very proud of what Mags and I created, and it’ll always have a place in my heart.
And that about sums up my history with this ship!
As for the future? Well, I've made jokes before that I will be writing SubScorp fic on my deathbed, and I'll be honest there's a lot more truth in that than I care to admit lol.
Mortal Kombat and SubScorp is my home, and for all my ups and downs, I am very happy here.

Q who fell first, and who fell harder?
Kuai Liang fell first, but I do think Hanzo fell harder.

I kind of assosiate Kuai Liang Chang'e for some reason, and Hanzo with Izanami & Izanagi.

Hanzo is the 'good old-fashioned lover boy' while Kuai is definitely the 'killer-queen'.
Y go-to pet names they have for each other, if any.
Hanzo's go to pet name for Kuai is "snowflake", while Kuai's for Hanzo ranges from "dear", "honey" to "firefly".
U what are their star signs?
I'm a basic bitch so Hanzo's a Scorpio LMAO. Kuai Liang is a capricorn based on when I generally tend to set his birthdate.

Hanzo is a Bisexual Cis-Man and Kuai Liang is Homosexual and Non-Binary (altho in a very lowkey way, he's only been able to start exploring this at an older age).

Soulmates by fate, every time. They will find each other in any universe.

Hanzo is Chaotic Good as a human or Chaotic Neutral as a wraith. Kuai Liang tends to alternate between Lawful Good and Neutral Good (and very occasionally delves into Chaotic Good)

Hanzo is a very impulsive person and does do some very stupid things. Kuai Liang is often trailing behind and cleaning up the chaos he leaves.

Kuai Liang's the "tell me I'm pretty", and Hanzo is "you're pretty fucking annoying"... Leading to Kuai pouting and Hanzo having to make it better through sex

Hanzo's is definitely acts of service, he would happily do anything Kuai requests of him if he knows it'll make him happy. Kuai's is probably touch, it was a rarity outside of battle for him, so the fact someone can touch him and he can touch someone else so gently and softly is a new experience for him.

Hanzo is the sun, Kuai Liang is the moon.

I generally don't do stuff like that, but I will admit I kinda have a soft spot for them having a Gomez and Morticia Addams dynamic (Hanzo is Gomez, Kuai is Morticia)

Kuai is an all animals person and would probably adopt anything he can get his hands on, although most prolific is definitely Weena the Lin Kuei Dachshund. Hanzo is a dog person, although he is convinced that Weena hates him (She loves him, he's just paranoid).
Z their absolute favourite thing about each other in the whole wide world.
Hanzo loves who resiliant Kuai is, how despite all the absolute shit that's been thrown his way that he's still managed to come out of it with a kind heart and love for those around him. As for Kuai? He loves how passionate Hanzo is, how he honourable he is and how he fights for those he loves... Also his Biceps.
X do they ever match in any way?
I like to think Kuai got his headband to match Hanzo's :)

Hanzo will do thinks like cooking Kuai's favourite foods, and just generally looking after him. Kuai tends to be very vocal with his love, but for Hanzo it's the silly little things Kuai does that really tells him he loves him, like overusing emoji's in texts or making him little ice sculptures.
V who's the "i wouldn't marry myself either" one, and who's the "i would marry you with parer rings" one? (alternatively: i'd marry you with paper rings vs. i'm rich. i'll get you a diamond)?
Kuai is both "I wouldn't marry myself either" and "I would marry you with paper rings" at the same time. Hanzo on the other hand is "I'm rich, I'll get you a diamond" regardless of the situation lmao.
B coffee or tea?
Tea for both of them, but while Hanzo does also enjoy coffee, Kuai Liang can not stand it and can only drink it with a ridiculous amount of sugar in it.
